I can only answer it this way. The basketball clinic is set because of the fact it runs in conjunction with the Orion Summer Basketball League and that starts soon. Secondly, we did have a level 2 football clinic last year. Third, I know that VP of Football Ken Grawe will have the opportunity to become a clinician this summer during the IHSA Conference. With that, he can not put on a clinic without another clinician there with him. Those are just some of the reasons why basketball is already scheduled and football is not. If you would like to direct your concerns directly to our football people that might help. Our VP of Football is Ken Grawe and our Football clinician is Mike Botts. Use of Members page to get those email addresses.
Why is it that the basketball clinic is already set, but the football clinic (that originally was to be last year) is still up in the air? I mean basketball just got over 6-7 weeks ago, and their clinic is already established and ready to go. But the football season ended 5 months ago and we have no information.

Submitting the correct answer(s) for the Final POTW dated 2-21-09 were: Mike Komnick & Les Huisingh
POTW 2-21-09 correct answers are: b,d,f, & h.
Let's examine the play as it occurs - 1st the ball is live since it is at the disposal of the FTer. Therefore this is a live ball foul and a personal foul on B1, so b is correct.
A1 will be allowed to shoot his merited FT. Since the ball will become or remain dead after the last FT by A1 no players are lined up on the lane per Rule 8 Section 1 Article 3, so d is correct.
Now we deal with the personal foul on B1. Since it is only the Team's 9th foul, A2 will shoot the one and bonus FTs with players along the lane, making f correct. Why? Since the foul was personal and not a technical, the ball will remain live after the last FT. Thereby per Rule 8 Section 6 Article 1, h is correct.
Play: A1 is at the line to shoot the second of two FTs. After the ball is at the disposal of the FT'er, B1 pushes A2. You blow your whistle and properly call B1 for a foul. This will be the 9th Team foul on Team B. How is this handled?
a) Technical foul on B1 b) Personal foul on B1 c) Allow A1 to shoot the 2nd FT with all players lined up on the lane d) Allow A1 to shoot the 2nd FT with no one lined up on the lane e) A2 will shoot a one-and-one FT with no one lined up on the lane f) A2 will shoot a one-and-one FT with players lined up on the lane g) Resume play after A2's FT with a T-I for Team A at the division line h) Resume play as normal after the last FT by A2

What are the correct answer(s)?
POTW 2-14-09 Correct Answer: C
Why is C the correct answer?
Rule 5 Section 12 Article 4 states a timeout shall not be granted until after the ball becomes live to start the game. It further states the additional timeout provided for each extra period shall not be granted until after the ball has become live to start the extra period. So does this mean if a team has 1 T.O. left at the end of regulation and then acquires an additional one for the OT that they may call the one left over T.O. from regulation before the ball becomes live? NO!!! The next question whihc needs answered is when does the ball become live to start the extra period? Per Rule 6 Section 1 Article 2, the ball will become live when the ball leaves the tossed ball leaves the official's hand. Based upon all the information, the only correct answer can be C. Play: Team A has no timeouts remaining at the end of regulation with the score tied. Both teams will be granted an extra timeout for the overtime period. When can Team A be allowed to use that timeout?
a) At the conclusion of regulation b) Prior to the beginning of the OT period c) After the ball becomes alive for the OT period d) After the clock has properly started for the OT period
